Build on HyperCluster
Our own blockchain (chain 838838), sign-in with Passport, and the HyperAI API: what each one is, where it is, and short examples.
Chain 838838
HyperCluster runs its own EVM blockchain on Hyperledger Besu. It records payments in HYPEC, HyperCV seals and the work each machine does. What works on Ethereum (wallets, Solidity, Hardhat, Foundry, ethers.js) works here.
The public RPC
- Send JSON-RPC requests by POST to https://rpc.hypercluster.org. The
eth_,net_andweb3_methods are open, in batches of up to 50 calls. - Sign transactions yourself and send them with
eth_sendRawTransaction. Methods that would sign on the node (eth_sign,eth_sendTransaction,eth_accounts) are turned off. - Gas is paid in HYPEC. Add HYPEC with USDT in your Passport wallet, then send some to the address you deploy from.
curl https://rpc.hypercluster.org \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
-d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"eth_blockNumber","params":[]}'
Add it to a wallet
In MetaMask or any EVM wallet, add a network with these settings:
Network name: HyperCluster
RPC URL: https://rpc.hypercluster.org
Chain ID: 838838
Currency symbol: HYPEC
Block explorer: https://explorer.hypercluster.orgDeploy and verify a contract
Compile for the Cancun EVM. Our own contracts use Solidity 0.8.33 with the optimizer on. The explorer (Blockscout) verifies Solidity source, with no API key.
Hardhat
// hardhat.config.js
module.exports = {
solidity: { version: '0.8.33', settings: { evmVersion: 'cancun', optimizer: { enabled: true, runs: 200 } } },
networks: {
hypercluster: { url: 'https://rpc.hypercluster.org', chainId: 838838, accounts: [process.env.PRIVATE_KEY] },
},
etherscan: {
apiKey: { hypercluster: 'none' },
customChains: [{
network: 'hypercluster', chainId: 838838,
urls: { apiURL: 'https://explorer.hypercluster.org/api', browserURL: 'https://explorer.hypercluster.org' },
}],
},
sourcify: { enabled: false },
};
npx hardhat run scripts/deploy.js --network hypercluster
npx hardhat verify --network hypercluster 0xYourContract arg1 arg2Foundry
forge create src/MyContract.sol:MyContract \
--rpc-url https://rpc.hypercluster.org \
--private-key $PRIVATE_KEY \
--evm-version cancun --broadcast
ethers.js
import { ethers } from 'ethers';
const provider = new ethers.JsonRpcProvider('https://rpc.hypercluster.org', 838838);
console.log(await provider.getBlockNumber());
console.log(ethers.formatEther(await provider.getBalance('0xYourAddress')), 'HYPEC');
The explorer also answers Etherscan-style API calls at https://explorer.hypercluster.org/api, and has its own at /api/v2.
Contracts you can read
HYPEC is the chain’s own coin, like ETH on Ethereum: it has no token contract. These are the contracts behind our apps, on chain 838838.
One account for your app too
Passport is the one HyperCluster account. Apps sign members in with OAuth 2 and OpenID Connect: the authorization code flow, with PKCE.
GET /authorizePOST /tokenGET /userinfo/.well-known/jwks.json (RS256)POST /revoke| Scope | Claims |
|---|---|
openid | sub |
profile | name |
email | email, email_verified |
wallet | wallet_address, wallet_type |
referral | referral_code, referred_by, referral_count |
referral_count comes from /userinfo only, not in the ID token.
The rules
- Only
response_type=code. Send astate, and a PKCEcode_challengewithcode_challenge_method=S256(plain is refused); send thecode_verifierto/token. - The
redirect_urimust be exactly one of those registered for your app. - If your app has a client secret, send it in the body (
client_secret_post). - A code lasts 10 minutes and works once. Access and ID tokens are RS256 JWTs and last an hour. A refresh token lasts 30 days and works once: using it gives you a new one.
- Call
/tokenand/userinfofrom your server: Passport doesn’t answer them from other sites’ web pages. Check the ID token’s signature with the signing keys, and that itsaudis your client ID. - At most 100 requests a minute from one address.
Getting a client ID
Apps are registered by HyperCluster for now; there is no self-service sign-up for developers yet. Write to [email protected] with your app’s name and its redirect addresses.

Every HyperCluster product is priced in US dollars and paid in HYPEC from the member’s Passport wallet, at the Passport checkout: at that day’s HYPEC price, less the member’s discount for locked HYPEC.
- 1
Add HYPEC
In Passport, under Wallet, send USDT on BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20) or TRON (TRC-20) to the address shown. The HYPEC arrives in the Passport wallet at that day’s price.
- 2
Pay
The checkout shows the amount in HYPEC and the balance. Passport signs the payment for wallets it made; a MetaMask wallet approves it in MetaMask, on chain 838838.
- 3
Back to the app
The member comes back with the order paid, and the app gets a signed receipt it can check.
The HyperAI API
Your website, app, script or AI agent sends a picture and gets back what is in it: from HyperCluster’s AI chips, or from a model you trained. It can also chat with a chat model you fine-tuned. Paid from your HyperAI credit.
Authorization: Bearer hc_… or X-API-KeyPOST /v1/vision/analyzeA picture on our AI chips: things in it, each with a box, what it shows, its text, and faces. tasks: objects, labels, text, faces (all four if left out). 0.45 HYPEC ($0.0045) a picture, only when it works.POST /v1/models/{id}/predictA picture through a YOLO model you keep in HyperAI, on a member’s graphics card. By the second, at that card’s price an hour (prices per graphics card), at most 30 seconds.POST /v1/models/{id}/chatA message to a chat model you fine-tuned (its LoRA adapter), answered on a member’s graphics card. By the second, at the training rate for that card. The first chat on a PC can take a few minutes: then ask again at the address it gives (GET /v1/chat-runs/{id}).GET /v1/modelsThe models you keep, with their IDs, where each stands, and whether it can runPOST /v1/modelsAdd a model: from a public https link, or uploaded in pieces. Needs a key you allowed to change models.PATCH /v1/models/{id} · DELETE /v1/models/{id}Rename a model or change its labels; delete it (same key).GET /v1/balanceYour HyperAI credit, in HYPEC and US dollarscurl https://ai.hypercluster.org/v1/vision/analyze \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $HYPERAI_KEY" \
-F [email protected] \
-F tasks=objects,text
- Errors come back as
{ "error": { "code", "message" } }. A call that fails costs nothing. - Calls through the API don’t use the free allowance members get each day.
- AI agents such as Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code connect to the MCP server with your key, and can list your models, run one on a picture, read a picture on our AI chips, chat with a chat model you fine-tuned and add a model from a link. Agents that only sign in with OAuth (claude.ai and ChatGPT connectors) can’t use it yet.
- Training is in the HyperAI app, not in the API. The API runs your models, reads pictures on our AI chips and chats with a chat model you fine-tuned.
- Prices are set in our catalog and can change: the developers page always shows today’s.
Check a HyperCV seal
Anyone can check whether a file was sealed with HyperCV, without an account: work out the SHA-256 fingerprint of the file and ask. The answer is read from the blockchain. People can also open the check page in a browser, at notary.hypercluster.org/v/ and the fingerprint.
HASH=0x$(shasum -a 256 diploma.pdf | cut -d' ' -f1)
curl https://notary.hypercluster.org/api/v/$HASH

- Keep private keys and API keys on your server, never in a web page or an app people download.
- Check a contract’s address on the explorer before you send it HYPEC.
- Use a hardware wallet for large amounts.
- Found a security problem? Write to [email protected].
HYPEC is the coin used to pay on HyperCluster. Nothing on this page is investment advice.
